My Letter to Local Conservative office

As residents of the Yeovil Constituency I feel it might be helpful to let you know a few home truths in the wake of the Eastleigh by election.
Before the disastrous election of David Cameron as leader of the party we were always Conservative voters.
We've been so appalled at his leadership after such side issues as gay marriage, his support for establishment figures presiding over failing institutions, his promises of jam tomorrow in relation to the EU referendum, the ECHR and clawing back powers from Brussels, all of which are not possible while we are members of the EU, and many others like the planning debacle, green field development, HS2, and mad energy policies such as wind power etc that we no longer recognise the Conservative party as representing the sensible values and traditions we've always held dear.
We now see a rising party in UKIP that does represent those traditional Tory values with many cross party policies that appeal to the other main party supporters also. We are now fully paid up members and will vote for them at all elections in the future until such time as they too fail to live up to their manifesto promises, barring the almost impossible scenario I detail below.
We see the Conservatives as having no hope of winning in 2015 and this is borne out by the thousands of comments I see on Twitter and Facebook every day by folk who feel exactly the same. In one word betrayed.
There is a way back but I think the chances are so slim as to be negligible
The Coalition must be ditched and Cameron must be replaced by someone with a more Thatcherite view of politics. Then we should be given an EU referendum before the next election. This is the only way you'll put UKIP out of business and possibly regain our support and the thousands like us.
Cameron will not deliver on his promises because it isn't possible. Nobody believes or trusts him anymore and he comes across as an arrogant, doesn't listen, doesn't care toff not in touch with public concerns. In short he's running out of time fast.
I've taken the trouble to write this because I have no wish to elect another Labour administration by default, but we will if this is the price we have to pay to reclaim our country and a proper Conservative party with it
